Check Out Marvel’s 5 Coolest Bug-Inspired Heroes
DON’T BUG THEM WHILE THEY'RE SAVING THE WORLD!
We’re all abuzz at Fifth Sun with the launch of exclusive Ant-Man and the Wasp styles! Hank Pym has been working to upgrade the Wasp suit (and, yes, Ant-Man is feeling a little jealous about it) with blasters, wings, and awesome high-tech gadgets; while we’ve been working to upgrade our Marvel offerings with fun new Ant-Man and the Wasp tees!
The Marvel Universe is filled with exciting and one-of-a-kind characters like Ant-Man and the Wasp; we can’t wait to see what adventures are in store for them in the new film. Until then though, we’re going to grab our ant farm, some tasty crumbs, and head into the backyard to see what we can catch!
Check out the coolest insect-inspired heroes in the Marvel Universe:
1) Ant-Man
Scott Lang may not be your typical hero, but that doesn’t mean you should underestimate him! Like his namesake – the ant – there is more to Scott than meets the eye. Ants have advanced forms of communication, they can lift 10 - 50 times their own weight, and they can run 300 meters per hour (that’s almost 800 times their body length every minute). Just think what you could accomplish if you controlled an army of ants. Oh wait, Ant-Man can control an army of ants! Oh snap!
Plus, Ant-Man has a unique perspective when it comes to saving the world: he can shrink and grow into “Giant-Man”, so you know he sees thing differently than most. He may be small, but he’s still a hero to us.
2) Wasp
Ant-Man just moved up in the world because he got himself the best partner around: the Wasp!
Hope van Dyne can shrink and grow to epic proportions like Ant-Man, but her real power comes in the form of her “Wasp’s Sting” blasts that can blow through walls and stop anyone in their tracks.
Ant-Man and the Wasp sound like they are going to be an unstoppable partnership. Plus, don’t even think about having a picnic around them without covering your food.
3) Spider-Man
You may not want to meet a giant spider in the dark, but you can bet you wouldn’t mind meeting Peter Parker!
Your favorite Friendly Neighborhood Hero makes you re-think your dislike of the hairy 8-legged creature; the young hero’s web shooters, mad web-slinging skills, and his positive personality mean he can win over even the most adamant spider haters.
4) Black Widow
We are all terrified that we’ll find a black widow in our shoe one day...I mean, have you see those things?! Why did nature give it so many legs!?
Anyway, you should be just as terrified about running into Natalia "Natasha" Romanova or Marvel’s Black Widow.
Black Widow is practically a ninja and she does not mess around. The former spy and master of disguise is also known for her 30,000-volt bracelets that shoot the "widow’s bite".
5) Mantis
Your favorite telepathic Guardian of the Galaxy member may not have a lot of typical “bug-like” qualities, but her name and her antennae win her a place on Marvel’s list of coolest insect-inspired heroes for sure.
Plus, the real praying mantis is pretty awesome (minus that whole eating their mate thing, um, rude) which is a lot like Marvel's Mantis.
Plus, she can speak with plants which makes her way more insect-like than the rest of us!
So, join Scott Lang, Hank Pym, and Hope Van Dyne on a mission to uncover secrets and defeat the mysterious villain, Ghost at the film premiere of Ant-Man and the Wasp on July 6th, 2018.
Get ready to watch Ant-Man in action – or escaping a giant flying Pez – in a new Fifth Sun Ant-Man and the Wasp tee.
